Great for a nature walk
A great place to have a look at while you are 4wd
Forest just outside Woodend. There are a number of tracks through it, so you can walk, ride your mountain bike or drive your 4wd. Kangaroos and Wallabies can be seen in the evenings or early mornings. Lots of Sulfur crested and yellow tailed black Cockatoos, robins, magpies, crows and other birds. It is next to the Macedon Plantation (Pine trees), so the contrast with the black gums is interesting, particularly because the roos have got used to living in the pine forest.
