Went for Sunday brunch. Cafe wasn't busy but no one came to serve. Picked up a menu ourselves but nothing caught our eye; it was all very simple. The cafe looks nice and has an area for kids to draw, but we didn't stay to order.
Great quality coffee. I've been here a few times now when in the area and never disappoints. For this reason, I even detour off the highway, when traveling to Bendigo.
Need to do service much better. Lots of room for improvement. Pastrami sandwich only had one thin slice of pastrami - it was almost see through. Staff didn't smile for 1 second when attending us during the order, or bringing food of the table. They should not be working there with a depressed face. Glasses were dirty too. AND the coffee was as cold as the expression on the staff's faces. The only good thing was the tomato relish (which of course they forgot) so I had to get up to get them to bring it.
1.45 my partner and I came in today for lunch. I was using the bathroom. 3 different girls working there looked at my partner and was rudely ignored. Even when he was standing there and they walked around him to continue cleaning. We walked out. We wernt acknowledged at all. Would have been nice to have been said hello to, and how are you, would you like food/drinks, order at the til? Or take a seat anywhere or over here and we will come to you and take your order. All places offer direction and some friendly staff. This is very poor service. 3 girls just want there pay. Instead of offering any service and turning away there customers.
Wow what a disappointment. What should have been an enjoyable break from a long drive went downhill very quickly. Main problem being a lack of manners, common courtesy and simple attention to detail. The four of us agreed that the food was a mix of bland and not bad but nothing special. Coffee was nice and toilet clean but everything else put a real dampener on our experience. When my 80+ year old mum asks for a pastie please, the correct response would be something like 'sorry we have no pasties left' not 'no pasties'. When you bring 2 meals to a table you bring 2 knives and forks, not 1. When your customer has to come and ask for the missing knife and fork you don't ignore them for ages and then just hand them over with no apology. When you bring out the coffee and it's not what was ordered you don't look at us in disbelief then storm off. One thing after another, the list goes on and on. Just a really bad experience for us that didn't need to be.
